The Only True Protest Is Beauty

An exploration of beauty as a charged encounter, capable of unsettling the familiar and making space for the unexpected. At Palazzo Pisani Moretta, craftsmanship engages emotion and material inquiry in a constellation formed through mastery, set in dialogue with the historic architecture that houses it. Works by diverse creatives converge in relation to one another, drawn together by affinity or held in productive contrast, revealing the human intensity of making. Here, creation becomes a practice of questioning, an experience of exchange, a field of possibility.

Curated by Dries Van Noten with Geert Bruloot.

Xavier Mañosa 99 Trays

Fondazione Dries Van Noten presented a special evening at the Androne of Palazzo Pisani Moretta, featuring an installation by Spanish ceramist and designer Xavier Mañosa with 99 glazed trays reinterpreting everyday objects through a contemporary lens.

The evening also featured a wine tasting curated in collaboration with Vino Vero, bringing together independent winemakers from Veneto. The encounter between objects and wines reflected the Fondazione’s commitment to craftsmanship as a living cultural practice.

Vessels of Beauty

From 12 to 17 September, Vessels of Beauty brought new works by Danish glassblower and designer Alexander Kirkeby into dialogue with the historic glass collection of the Pisani family at Palazzo Pisani Moretta.

Mouth-blown entirely by hand, Kirkeby’s vessels explored asymmetry, irregularity and organic forms, continuing his engagement with the techniques and vocabulary of 18th-century Italian glass masters.

Focus on Glass

Focus on Glass offered a closer look at the work of Armand Louis for Wave Murano Glass, exploring his contemporary approach to the techniques and traditions of Venetian glassmaking.

Presented at the Fondazione Dries Van Noten Magazzino, the showcase formed part of Venice Glass Week 2026.

The presentation The Only True Protest Is Beauty is now closed. Further updates will be announced soon.
